The idea of categories is to give an indication of a players ability to try and achieve a level of comparability when organising competitions or money matches. It must be remembered that it is only a guide!

You must play in at least two flyers, after which you will be assessed and assigned a category.

Your category will be reviewed every six months, or at any point a member of the committee feels you're playing either above or below the level you've been assigned.

We have a committee of people from various pool and snooker clubs around West Yorkshire who feed information into the system.

The final decision is always down to Andrew Appleton.
